2024 College Football Researchers Association (CFRA) Midseason Poll

Now that we are halfway through the college football regular season, it is time to publish the CFRA Midseason Poll. One interesting facet of the poll is that this is the third consecutive year the 7th ranked team in the CFRA preseason poll has dropped all the way out of the midseason top 25, in which now must be called “The Curse of the Preseason # 7”. In 2022, Oklahoma started the season ranked 7th in our poll and then dropped out by midseason and then Clemson did the same last year. This year, Michigan was our preseason # 7 that you will see now resides just outside our top 25 field.

Without further ado, here is this year’s midseason poll. Keep in mind that the 12 teams that would currently make up this year’s College Football Playoff field based on this poll are denoted by an asterik next to their name. In addition, the four conference champions that would get byes to the quarterfinals in that playoff based on this poll are represented by two asteriks next to their name.
