The tight battle between Ohio State and Clemson for the # 3 spot in the CFRA poll continues for the third straight week, as the Buckeyes reclaim their narrow lead over the Tigers. Also, LSU makes a huge leap past Texas A & M, Louisville, and and Stanford to grab a spot in this week’s top 5.

Week 2 College Football Researchers Association (CFRA) Poll

There is no change at the top of the CFRA, as Alabama and Oregon retain the top two spots in this week’s poll.  Clemson, however, has managed to move ahead of Ohio State for the # 3 spot and Stanford moved up to take # 5 following South Carolina’s disappointing loss to Georgia.  There is also one major break of 25 or more points in this week’s poll, and it occurs between Oklahoma and Miami at 14 and 15.  Moreover, there appears to be a unanimous top 25 at this point in the season, as the exact same 25 teams are ranked in all three major human polls (AP, Coaches, and CFRA).

Week 1 College Football Researchers Association (CFRA) Poll

College football season is now underway, and the College Football Researchers Association Top 25 is the first major poll to be published following the week 1 slate of games. Alabama once again stands atop the poll gathering all but two first-place votes. However, there are several other shakeups near the top of these rankings. First of all, there is a new # 2, as Oregon jumps Ohio State despite receiving 24 less points than the Buckeyes in the preseason poll. Secondly, there is now a tie at # 3 between Clemson and Ohio State. The other tie in this week’s poll is between UCLA and Northwestern at the 19 spot. There is also a massive 54-point break in this week’s poll occurring between Texas (# 17) and Wisconsin (# 18). Here are this week’s rankings:
