The CFRA is always looking to expand its horizons and one of the ways we are doing that in 2026 is by incorporating sprint football rankings (“lightweight” intercollegiate football played by players weighing 183 pounds or less) into our repertoire. Fourteen schools currently field competitive intercollegiate sprint football teams, ten of which are a part of the well-established Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSF)L and another four that are a part of the relatively new Midwest Sprint Football League. Our poll is one of the few in the country who ranks all 14 of these schools (Army West Point, Caldwell, Chestnut Hill, Cornell, D’Youville, Mansfield, Molloy, Navy, Penn, St. Thomas Aquinas, Calumet-IN, Quincy, Bellarmine, and Midway). Believe it or not, sprint football has been around for more than a century and its distinguished alumni include Jimmy Carter, Donald Rumsfeld, Robert Kraft, Beau Biden, and rapper Hoodie Allen. For more information about sprint football please go to Sprintfootball.com, Midwestsprintfootball.com or the sprint football article from June 14, 2025 at CFRAPoll.Com. Without further ado, here is the first-ever CFRA sprint football preseason poll.
