Week 5 College Football Researchers Association (CFRA) Poll

For the fifth-straight week, Alabama holds on to the # 1 ranking in the CFRA poll.  The one tie in this week’s poll occurs at # 21 between the two brainiac universities of Northwestern and Stanford.  On the other hand, there are three major breaks of 20 or more points, and they exist between spots # 7 and 8 (South Carolina and Kansas State), # 11 and 12 (Florida and TCU), and # 19 and 20 (Mississippi State and Nebraska).

Week 4 College Football Researchers Association (CFRA) Poll

For the second-straight week, twenty-six teams crack this week’s CFRA poll, as we have a tie at # 25 between Boise State and Ohio.  There is one other tie this week and it is at # 8 between two unbeaten squads who recently pulled off major upsets (Stanford and Kansas State).  On the other hand, there are also three major breaks in this week’s poll, and they exist between spots # 5 and 6 (Georgia and South Carolina), # 13 and 14 (TCU and Southern California), and # 18 and 19 (Oklahoma and Mississippi State).

Alabama retains the # 1 spot in this week’s CFRA poll, and teams 2-4 also remain unchanged from week 1.  However, there are two very interesting ties in this week’s poll.  The first is at # 5 where Florida State has risen to enter into a deadlock with Oklahoma.  Shockingly, this week’s AP poll contains the exact same tie at # 15.   The other CFRA tie is between two bitter in-state rivals, as South Carolina and Clemson share the # 9 spot in this week’s poll.

We’re just one week into this year’s college football season and we already have a change at the top of the poll.  As a result of their blowout victory over Michigan, Alabama has overtaken Southern California for the top spot in this week’s rankings.  There is one tie in this week’s poll and it is a three-way deadlock between Florida, Louisville, and Stanford for the final 3 spots in the top 25.  Moreover, there is one major break of 40 or more points, and it is between the # 9 and 10 spots (West Virginia and South Carolina).
